Personal & Professional Coaching
Perfect for those who have goals to achieve, dreams to fulfill, and potential to realize.
Perfect for those who have goals to achieve, dreams to fulfill, and potential to realize.
Personal and professional coaching is a powerful vehicle for those who have goals to achieve, dreams to fulfill, and potential to realize.
It is also very helpful for people who simply need general advice or help with troubleshooting particular problems. For some, this involves regular weekly consultations, and for others one or two consultations is sufficient; it depends on what you wish to address.
I am here to help forge your path, stoke your fire, help you find solutions, and offer you practical advice to help solve problems.
With over 20 years of coaching, counseling, mental health and psychotherapy experience, I bring a unique perspective and ability to help you get to where you need to go.
In our consultations, I help you clarify goals based on your most important personal values, and create a structured action plan toward attaining them.
Together, we troubleshoot through obstacles blocking your path, pinpoint ways that you might sabotage yourself, and shed light on blind spots that may keep you from seeing solutions available to you.
From there I help you push beyond self-defeating patterns, and provide encouragement and accountability for completing the steps in your plan.
I could use some help with life’s challenges, but I don’t think I want a therapist.
We will meet online or over the phone for your consultations. Our first check-in is complementary: we will take 10 minutes by phone to determine if we are a good fit to work together, and what you want to achieve through our consultations.
Depending on your needs, we can then schedule a 50 minute full consultation, or a 25 minute brief consultation. Once we have had a full or brief consultation, I also offer 15 minute phone “check-ins” when they are helpful.
I offer package prices for those wishing to receive more comprehensive coaching.
I’m intriguded by coaching, but want to make sure I find the right person … someone who “gets me.”
As a psychotherapist licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, I offer qualified professional coaching driven by professional and personal experience, as well as in-depth training and education.
My verified expertise in human psychology and behavior equips me to discover what motivates you and how to best employ that motivation to drive empowered action.
Unlike many unregulated “coaches,” I can quickly recognize if the source of your challenges runs deeper than what coaching can help you with.
In these cases I refer clients toward psychotherapy, where you can better address the deeper issues blocking your progress.
I bring a wealth of personal and professional experience to our consultations. I have over 20 years of experience in mental and behavioral health, as a coach, teacher, mentor, counselor and psychotherapist.
I have effectively helped a broad range of people from all over the world with varying issues, and am confident I can help you with yours.
As a fellow human being, I bring a unique lens and perspective to help you. Beyond my professional experience, my path has been set with challenging and varied obstacle courses to navigate, through which survival at times felt like more of a gift than a given.
As a survivor of varied traumatic abuse, abduction, harassment, and exploitation, I have consistently found ways to come out on top. I wanted more than mere survival; I wanted to thrive in the face of my challenges. Doing so required a lot of self-exploration and hard work. Now I offer that knowledge, experience and wisdom to you.
Through many years of my own personal coaching and therapy, I discovered the power of reaching out for support and healing through exploratory and insight-driven relationships.
It wasn’t long before I recognized my passion for this work, and my capacity to help others learn to thrive as well.
I have dedicated myself to a life of healing and evolution, and I bring my own fire-forged strength and insight to helping others navigate theirs. I have a keen mind for insight and problem solving, strong motivational skills, communications expertise, and a knack for guiding, mentoring and teaching others.
My clients have the assurance that I don’t deign to walk them through territory I have not developed a strong compass for myself.
It is a strong point of ethical integrity for my profession that I stay actively engaged in my own personal work. Healing, growth and evolution are elements of a journey, not a destination. I work hard to embrace that journey in every way possible.
I am a California native and have lived in the Bay Area cumulatively for seventeen years. I spent over two years living and working in Japan and Taiwan to gain a broader world perspective, where I served as a mentor, a teacher, and a professional singer.
I have also spent significant periods of time in Central America. One of my greatest passions in life is SCUBA diving, followed closely by dance, singing, hiking and skiing. I am a great lover of animals and adore caring for my dog and two cats.
I travel internationally frequently, which helps me maintain an integral perspective. It also helps keeps me aware of how blessed I am to live in one of the most amazing cities in the world!
I really want to have my coaching sessions over the phone or video chat.
Coaching is a completely unregulated field in which anyone can declare themselves to be a “professional” life/personal/executive coach. Many claim to be “certified” coaches, but who certifies them?
What qualifies that institution to offer certification? — Is there actual education, training and supervision required, or does one just pay a fee and complete a brief online course in order to lend themselves an air of credibility?
Because there is no actual regulation, the quality of services rendered varies wildly, and many seeking help end up feeling disappointed, or deficient because the “coaching” didn’t work. How do you, the consumer, distinguish which kind of coach you might be entrusting with your hopes, time and money.
There are no established qualifications nor measures of accountability required for one to advertise and sell his or her services as a coach.
The simple fact is, while there are plenty of coaches out there who are highly effective without regulated licensure, many “life coaches” are individuals who have not achieved their own goals in life, and are looking for a fast and easy way to make money.
They often charge exorbitant fees to give their services the illusion of being valuable, and when their unqualified services don’t actually help and their promises don’t pan out, they blame you for their failure.
If they are certified by an institution, take some time to research that institution and see what is required to gain certification. Most importantly, find out what verified work that person has done to create the success in her life that she purports to help you create in you own. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! If those questions are dodged, look elsewhere.
Anyone offering guarantees that you will achieve success within a set number of sessions as long as you take the steps they prescribe, clearly does not have the education or insight to recognize that all clients have unique challenges and therefore differing paths toward overcoming them. Buyer beware!
OK. Coaching sounds good. But how do I get started?
